Dr. Anthony Marotta is a serial entrepreneur and an Adjunct Professor in the Division of Rheumatology, Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). With a passion for using his health science background for good, he has co-founded Peqish Food Company and Augurex Life Sciences. As the Chief Scientific Officer, Anthony was responsible for the development and commercialization of the company's proprietary diagnostic platform. During his tenure, he co-authored over 90 scientific publications, and was awarded significant non-dilutive funding. Anthony’s mission to re-define multifactorial disease prevention has earned him advisory roles for multiple companies including DueNorth BioDev, SignalChem Life Sciences Corp and more recently AmoyDx. Peqish, Anthony's latest venture, combines his love for food, scientific research, and innovation. The company makes better for you fresh foods for people on-the-go. The recipes are designed to meet specific dietary needs and preferences, guided by health and food science. Anthony has served in corporate development capacities for a number of companies, and has a strong aptitude for operations. Anthony holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia.
